Business Analyst – Travel Industry

An exciting opportunity to join a highly reputable travel company on an initial 1 year contract, where you will be responsible for translating business information from multiple sources, presenting it to both technical and non-technical audiences, and acting as a liaison between external development providers, central functions, and internal teams. As a Technical Business Analyst, you will need to have proven experience in the travel industry with strong knowledge of tour operator processes including the functions of flights, connectivity, operations, sales & finance. Business Analyst – Role & Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyse, and prioritise business requirements.
  • Understand and describe business processes, suggest improvements.
  • Translate high-level information into detailed insights.
  • Develop insightful recommendations and document business requirements.
  • Drive and challenge business users on their input and assumptions.
  • Identify requirements for change, assess impacts, and deliver training.
  • Ensure sound project governance across all work streams.
  • Work with other departments to manage supplier relationships.

Business Analyst – Skills & Experience Required:

  • Travel industry experience specifically within tour operations within a similar role and ability to make recommendations for business changes resulting from new technology.
  • Ability to communicate in both IT and travel business languages.
  • Use expertise with GDS to analyse process improvements.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Commercial acumen with ability to assess data, draw conclusions, and propose actions.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Understanding of finance operations, customer invoicing, and supplier settlement.
  • Ability to present confidently to groups and individuals.
  • Experience in problem-solving techniques and decision-making methodologies.
  • Positive approach, flexible, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Excellent time management, ability to achieve targets and deadlines.
  • Persuasive, articulate, and influential, yet friendly and approachable.
  • Practical hands on approach and solution-oriented.

Business Analyst – Additional Information:

  • Salary circa £45k
  • 1 year contract
  • Hybrid working in Surrey
