Are you an Amadeus expert who genuinely enjoys the technical side of travel? We're looking for an experienced Reservations & Ticketing Specialist to join a busy Out of Hours team, supporting clients with urgent travel requirements outside normal office hours.
This role would suit someone who has worked in a dedicated ticketing department or an experienced reservations consultant from a tour operator environment, who is confident managing the entire booking lifecycle - from creating reservations through to ticketing, reissues, refunds and urgent travel changes. With an exceptionally low volume of work overnight, this is a rare opportunity to utilise your expertise while enjoying an outstanding work-life balance.
The Role
- Managing a low volume of out-of-hours travel requests.
- Creating and amending UK, European and worldwide travel reservations.
- Issuing tickets, processing exchanges, reissues and refunds within Amadeus.
- Handling schedule changes, travel disruptions and urgent requests.
- Working confidently with fares, fare rules and ticketing processes.
- Ensuring bookings are completed accurately and efficiently.
- A genuine on-call position where, once any work has been completed, the remainder of the shift is typically quiet (sleeping is permitted).
Working Pattern
- Monday & Tuesday nights every week.
- 5.00pm - 9.30am.
- Plus 4 planned weeks per year providing annual leave cover (working 5 days from 7, including weekend shifts during those weeks only).
- Fully home-based.
Salary & Benefits
- £15 per hour (approximately 1,914 contracted hours per year).
- Additional £25 bonus for any emergency work completed between midnight and 4.00am (per PNR where applicable).
- Exceptionally low workload - often described as being 'paid to sleep'.
- Permanent position.
- Friendly and supportive team.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is technically strong in Amadeus, with excellent reservations and ticketing knowledge from a tour operator or travel management company (TMC). You'll ideally have:
- Strong Amadeus reservations and ticketing experience.
- Confidence creating bookings from start to finish, through to ticket issuance.
- Excellent knowledge of reissues, exchanges, refunds, split PNRs, fares and fare rules.
- A solid understanding of airline policies and ticketing procedures.
- The confidence to work independently and resolve urgent travel issues outside normal office hours.
- Happy to work alone.
If you're the person colleagues turn to for complex ticketing queries and enjoy the technical side of travel, this is an outstanding opportunity to put those skills to use in one of the most flexible Out of Hours roles available.
