Are you a senior business travel professional ready to build something from the ground up? This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected global organisation as they embark on an ambitious project to create their own in-house business travel function. We’re looking for a commercially minded, strategic leader with deep expertise across travel management companies, business travel operations, supplier partnerships and travel technology.
This role will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of the organisation’s travel programme — from initial feasibility through to full implementation.
The Opportunity
- Phase 1 – Feasibility & Strategic Planning (Approx. 3 Months)
- You’ll lead the discovery and planning phase, developing the commercial and operational foundations for the proposed in-house travel model, including:
- Building the business case and P&L
- Forecasting and commercial analysis
- Designing organisational structures
- Creating the product and technology roadmap
- Project planning and implementation strategy
- Evaluating operational and supplier models
- Phase 2 – Build & Implementation (Approx. 3+ Months)
- Following approval of the feasibility study, you’ll take the lead on bringing the vision to life by:
- Building an in-house Travel Management Company from the ground up
- Leading supplier RFP and contract negotiations
- Hiring and structuring key teams
- Designing scalable business processes and SOPs
- Driving operational setup and delivery
- Managing implementation across technology, suppliers and operations
About You
You’ll be a strategic, commercially astute travel leader with:
- Extensive experience within business travel and TMC environments
- Strong understanding of travel operations, supplier agreements and travel technology
- Proven project leadership and change management experience
- Excellent commercial modelling and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
