We’re looking for a commercially driven Trading Manager to join a growing travel business and take ownership of trading performance across a portfolio of tours. This is a hands-on role at the centre of commercial decision-making, where you’ll optimise pricing, yield and availability while influencing campaigns and tour viability. If you enjoy working close to the data, spotting opportunities early and making decisions that directly impact revenue and margin, this role offers real commercial influence.
The Role
- You’ll manage trading performance at a departure-by-departure level, monitoring rate of sale, load factor, yield and margin to identify risks and opportunities.
- Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Product and Inventory teams, you’ll actively shape pricing strategy, campaign activity and tour availability.
- You’ll also play a key role in weekly sales and trading forums, bringing clear data-led insight and commercial recommendations.
- Manage day-to-day trading performance across tours and departures.
- Monitor rate of sale, load factor, yield and margin.
- Take action on under- or over-performing departures.
- Optimise pricing, promotions and yield using tactical trading tools.
- Support marketing campaigns by selecting commercially viable products.
- Make go / no-go recommendations on tour departures.
- Work with Product and Inventory teams to manage availability.
- Act as an escalation point for Sales and Trade teams.
- Monitor competitor pricing and market activity.
Trading Manager Skills and Experience
- Experience in travel trading, revenue management, yield or commercial roles.
- Strong understanding of pricing, load factor, rate of sale and margin performance.
- Experience working with capacity-led products (tours, flights, cruise, accommodation or packages).
- Strong analytical skills with Excel and performance data.
- Comfortable making commercial decisions and influencing stakeholders.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys a fast-paced trading environment.
