This leading luxury tour operator is looking for an experienced and dynamic Assistant Store Manager to support the leadership and success of their Cheltenham store. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a multi award winning travel company that puts its team at the heart of everything they do, offering a basic salary of £28,961, plus lucrative uncapped commission and a range of exceptional company benefits.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Support the Store Manager in meeting and exceeding retail sales targets.
- Drive sales and convert enquiries into bookings by delivering exceptional customer service and helping to achieve sales figures and budgeted operating profit.
- Assist in monitoring the financial performance and productivity of the team.
- Support the day to day running of the store, including operations and administration.
- Help coach, motivate and develop travel consultants to achieve their full potential.
- Take responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Assist with local marketing initiatives and campaigns to drive sales and build customer relationships.
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and travel expertise.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience within retail travel, tour operations or a travel sales environment, with some supervisory, team leader or management experience preferred.
- A strong track record of delivering sales results and exceptional customer service.
- A genuine passion for travel, particularly long haul destinations.
- Good all round understanding of the sales and commercial aspects of tour operating, including scheduled flights.
- Excellent working knowledge of at least one travel agent or tour operator reservation system.
- Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills.
Additional Information:
- £28,961 basic salary plus lucrative uncapped commission.
- 37.5 hour working week, including Saturdays on a rota. Opening hours are 9.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Saturday.
- Regular fam trips – minimum of one per year.
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service, plus your birthday off.
