Africa Safari Expert required by an independent Africa Specialist Tour Operator. 40-45K plus commission (c.15K OTE). Ethical tourism is a major priority for this Africa Specialist who believes tourism is a force for good and done correctly makes a positive impact on communities, wildlife and the environment at their destinations. This is a Hybrid role with some weekly office work.

Key Benefit (amongst others): 2 African Fam Trips per year.

Responsibilities of an Africa Safari Expert:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their trusted travel adviser from initial enquiry through to post-travel follow-up, while building long-term relationships that encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Conduct detailed client consultations, maintaining accurate records of individual preferences, requirements and travel history to create highly personalised luxury travel experiences.
  • Design bespoke travel itineraries that reflect each client's aspirations, identifying opportunities to enhance every journey through exclusive experiences, premium upgrades and added-value services.
  • Apply expert destination knowledge by advising clients on travel timing, accommodation, transport, local experiences and practical travel requirements, while keeping abreast of emerging luxury travel trends and new product developments.
  • Oversee the booking process from confirmation to final documentation, working closely with internal teams and supplier partners to ensure every itinerary is delivered seamlessly.
  • Provide exceptional support before, during and after travel, resolving any changes or unforeseen issues professionally while gathering client feedback to help continually improve service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with hotels, lodges, DMCs, airlines and other supplier partners.
  • Produce engaging destination content, including blogs and other marketing material, to showcase expertise and inspire future travel.
  • Continue developing your product and destination knowledge through familiarisation trips, industry events and networking opportunities, sharing insights with colleagues to support the wider team.

Experience required:

This is an opportunity for a candidate with a good level of experience working as an Africa Specialist Travel Consultant and substantial on-the-ground experience out in Africa.
