This upmarket Tour Operator are looking for a Flights Specialist to join their team. This role encompasses a range of tasks using Amadeus GDS including issuing tickets, flight schedule changes, out of date range bookings and all flight related tasks. This role would suit candidates with experience in a fares & ticketing role. Salary circa £30k and an excellent opportunity to join this award winning luxury travel company.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all tickets are issued according to time lines and rebooking flights as appropriate to ensure best possible fares.
- Monitor airline queues and ensure appropriate action is taken, sending schedule change letters to customers as required.
- Support the reservations team with ad hoc pricing requests.
- Book out of date range flights.
- Maintain and build good working relationships with trade partners.
- Ensure collection of passenger information for ticketing purposes.
- Support with preparation of travel documentation.
- Taking overflow calls for the Reservations team when necessary.
- Proactively deal with customer feedback relating to flights.
- Update flight content on in house reservations system.
- Responsible for updating hotel status report twice weekly.
Skills & Experience
- Good overall knowledge of the aviation / travel industry, specifically in relation to flights.
- Excellent understanding of airline contracts and fares.
- Knowledge of IATA / BSP ticketing procedures.
- Solid Amadeus GDS proficiency.
- Must have strong organisational and time management skills and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a team-based environment as well as on own initiative.
Additional Information
- Salary circa £30k (some flexibility depending on experience).
- Office based, with some flexibility for hybrid working after probationary period.
- Monday to Friday 9 to 5.30.
