We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the finance function in this hands-on and operational role. This position is responsible for delivering all core transactional finance activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, invoicing, reconciliations, VAT returns, and month-end close. You will ensure strong financial controls, accurate reporting, compliance with UK accounting standards, and the efficient running of the finance team. Working closely with senior leadership, you will support financial performance, maintain system integrity, and drive continuous improvement across finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee AP, AR, payroll, invoicing, and bank reconciliations
  • Manage month-end close, journals, accruals, and management accounts
  • Prepare VAT, PAYE, pension, and statutory filings
  • Maintain financial controls, records, and process documentation
  • Lead and develop the UK finance team
  • Support reporting, budgeting, and finance system improvements

What We’re Looking For

  • CIMA or ACCA qualified (or part-qualified with strong relevant experience)
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or senior accounting role preferably from within the travel industry so you bring knowledge of regulatory reporting such as ABTA and ATOL.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, VAT, payroll, and statutory reporting
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
  • Advanced Excel and accounting systems expertise
