A growing law firm with an ambitious ten-year growth plan is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to drive the growth of the business and provide support across marketing, human resources and administrative functions. This is a role with genuine long-term potential. The right candidate will have the opportunity to grow with the firm - whether that means leading a larger operations function or specialising in a particular discipline over time.

The Role

  • Working closely with the Managing Partner and the wider legal team, the Practice Manager will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the firm across three key areas.

Administration

  • Office management and day-to-day operational oversight
  • Liaising with the finance associate and service providers on firm costs and billing
  • Responding to emails and document requests on behalf of executives
  • Drafting slides, meeting notes and documents
  • Diary management and co-ordinating meetings
  • Supporting the development and implementation of firm strategic initiatives
  • Building trusted relationships with partners, associates and trainees

Business Development

  • Monitoring firm and individual fee earner pipelines and driving actions forward
  • Managing marketing initiatives and client development activity
  • Overseeing the firm's marketing databases, client feedback and contact engagement

Human Resources

  • Overseeing recruitment processes and managing joiners and leavers
  • Monitoring workload across fee earners and co-ordinating appraisal processes
  • Tracking paralegal, associate and trainee hours
  • Monitoring unbilled time and outstanding bills, and working with the Managing Partner and COFA to resolve issues

The Ideal Candidate

  • Solid experience working within a law firm environment, with a strong understanding of legal file management, billing and finance procedures
  • Confident communicator with the presence and professionalism to work with high-profile clients and a talented legal team
  • Able to build trust and develop strong working relationships at every level of the firm
  • Ambitious and commercially minded, with a genuine desire to grow within the role
