Graduate Analyst – Timberland Team (9-month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: London (Covent Garden / Leicester Square area)
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000
I am recruiting on behalf of a leading investment and private equity firm seeking to appoint two Graduate Analysts to join their specialist Timberland team in London on a 9-month fixed term contract, with the potential for extension. This opportunity will particularly suit graduates with a strong academic or personal interest in timberland, forestry, natural resources or environmental markets, who are keen to build a career within a specialist investment strategy focused on real assets and sustainability.
Role Overview
The successful candidates will support a broad range of activities, including:
- Supporting the Timberland team’s client relations process from fundraising through to ongoing client servicing
- Evaluating and reporting on timberland portfolios, including KPIs relating to forest asset valuations, cashflows, wood product markets and sustainability metrics
- Conducting research into global timberland, forestry and wood product markets
- Preparing client-ready written communications (emails, reports and presentations) explaining forestry, wood product markets and the timberland asset class to investors
- Producing detailed and accurate responses to client enquiries and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Supporting wider team activities, including portfolio management and transaction-related work
Candidate Profile
My client is seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline; Data Analytics; or Natural Resources / Environmental studies
- A demonstrable interest in forestry, timberland, natural resources or environmental markets
- Some relevant experience gained within asset management, consulting or a comparable industry (internships welcomed)
- Strong Excel modelling and PowerPoint presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
