An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager – Pitches & Proposals to join the London office of a prestigious US law firm. Based close to Liverpool Street, this is a permanent hybrid role offering the chance to work within a high-performing international BD team, supporting some of the firm’s most strategic client pursuits across London and Europe.
This position is ideal for a commercially minded BD professional with deep expertise in high-value pitches, panel appointments, and complex multi-jurisdictional RFP responses within the legal or professional services sector.
The role
- You will take ownership of the full lifecycle of strategic pitches and proposals, leading sophisticated responses for major institutional clients and panel opportunities across multiple practice areas and jurisdictions.
- Working closely with the London BD & Marketing leadership team and the wider European network, you will act as a trusted advisor on pursuit strategy, helping shape best-practice methodologies and driving excellence across key client opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end management of strategic pitches, proposals, and panel RFPs.
- Drive high-value, multi-jurisdictional and multi-practice submissions for major institutional clients.
- Partner with senior stakeholders, partners, and lawyers to develop compelling win strategies.
- Advise the London BD&M Products team and wider European BD network on pursuit best practice.
- Provide hands-on support for complex regional opportunities, ensuring quality, consistency, and strategic alignment.
- Develop proposal frameworks, messaging, and pursuit processes to improve conversion success.
- Analyse pitch outcomes, market intelligence, and competitor positioning to refine future responses.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement across the proposals function.
About you
- Proven experience in pitches, proposals, and panel RFP management within a leading law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong track record leading complex cross-border pursuits.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with confidence advising senior partners and business leaders.
- Highly strategic, detail-focused, and able to work at pace within a demanding international environment.
- Excellent writing, project management, and influencing skills.
- Experience supporting US, Magic Circle, or other top-tier international firms would be highly advantageous.
