Financial Services Supervisor

A prestigious US law firm, renowned for its global presence and exceptional client service, is seeking an experienced Financial Services Supervisor to join their London office on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in managing the firm’s EMEA finance operations while leading a small, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of the Financial Services Specialist and Financial Services Assistant, including appraisals, professional development, and daily management.
• Responsible for Accounts Payable and Cash Application functions.
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns and compliance across all EMEA offices.
• Assist with annual tax requirements and coordination with external advisors for EMEA entities.
• Support annual audit and financial statement preparation for EMEA offices.
• Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Act as a key contact for auditors, bankers, and third‑party organisations such as tax advisors and HMRC.
• Assist with the annual budgeting process and oversee monthly financial reporting activities.

About You

• Proven experience in a finance supervisory or team lead role, ideally within a professional services or law firm environment.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, EMEA compliance, and multi‑currency accounting.
• Excellent leadership and mentoring skills with a focus on developing team capability.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
• Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred.
