Financial Services Supervisor
A prestigious US law firm, renowned for its global presence and exceptional client service, is seeking an experienced Financial Services Supervisor to join their London office on a 12-month fixed-term contract . This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in managing the firm’s EMEA finance operations while leading a small, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct supervision of the Financial Services Specialist and Financial Services Assistant , including appraisals, professional development, and daily management.
- Responsible for Accounts Payable and Cash Application functions.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns and compliance across all EMEA offices .
- Assist with annual tax requirements and coordination with external advisors for EMEA entities.
- Support annual audit and financial statement preparation for EMEA offices.
- Oversee cash management , bank reconciliations , and balance sheet reconciliations .
- Act as a key contact for auditors , bankers , and third‑party organisations such as tax advisors and HMRC .
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and oversee monthly financial reporting activities.
About You
- Proven experience in a finance supervisory or team lead role, ideally within a professional services or law firm environment.
- Strong knowledge of VAT , EMEA compliance , and multi‑currency accounting .
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills with a focus on developing team capability.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
- Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred.
