Our client is a fast-growing independent medical education and communications agency passionate about creating impactful scientific storytelling that improves healthcare education. They’re looking for an experienced Scientific Team Leader/Principal Medical Writer to lead client accounts, develop high-quality scientific content, mentor junior writers, and provide strategic counsel across medical communications programmes.

Experience across medical affairs, promotional work and IME/CME is very advantageous, ideally you must have experience in at least two of these.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading development and review of educational and promotional materials
  • Acting as a key scientific client contact
  • Managing multiple projects across therapy areas
  • Supporting pitches and new business development
  • Mentoring junior writers and freelancers
  • Ensuring scientific accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in biomedical science, pharmacy, medicine, or related field (PhD preferred)
  • 6–8 years’ experience in a med comms agency or pharmaceutical environment
  • Exceptional scientific writing and communication skills
  • Strong client management and leadership experience
  • Passion for creative scientific storytelling

Must be able to travel internationally occasionally.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of ABPI/GPP and global compliance requirements
  • eLearning experience
  • PowerPoint design skills
  • Experience managing writers and supporting pitches
