Our client is a fast-growing independent medical education and communications agency passionate about creating impactful scientific storytelling that improves healthcare education. They’re looking for an experienced Scientific Team Leader/Principal Medical Writer to lead client accounts, develop high-quality scientific content, mentor junior writers, and provide strategic counsel across medical communications programmes. Experience across medical affairs, promotional work and IME/CME is very advantageous, ideally you must have experience in at least two of these.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading development and review of educational and promotional materials
- Acting as a key scientific client contact
- Managing multiple projects across therapy areas
- Supporting pitches and new business development
- Mentoring junior writers and freelancers
- Ensuring scientific accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment
What we’re looking for:
- Degree in biomedical science, pharmacy, medicine, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 6–8 years’ experience in a med comms agency or pharmaceutical environment
- Exceptional scientific writing and communication skills
- Strong client management and leadership experience
- Passion for creative scientific storytelling
Must be able to travel internationally occasionally.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of ABPI/GPP and global compliance requirements
- eLearning experience
- PowerPoint design skills
- Experience managing writers and supporting pitches
