The Procurement and Corporate Services Officer plays a key role in supporting effective, compliant, and customer-focused procurement activities across the organisation. Working closely with managers and budget holders, the role will develop procurement plans, assist procurement leads with tender documentation, monitor contract performance, and ensure value for money. The role also involves promoting a culture of compliance with public procurement regulations and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and added social value through supplier engagement and contract management.

In addition to procurement duties, the officer will support a range of corporate services activities. These include supporting GDPR and FOI compliance, helping maintain health and safety standards, contributing to performance reporting, and assisting with governance activities such as Board and Committee support. The role will also help manage internal and external communications through digital platforms and contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and business continuity arrangements, playing a vital part in the organisation’s overall operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Procurement Activities: Assist in the development of annual procurement plans, support tender processes, ensure compliance with procurement regulations, and support the effective monitoring of supplier performance and contract value.
  • Contract and Supplier Management: Support budget holders to manage supplier relationships, contract performance reviews, and support procurement leads with timely contract renewals or re-procurements.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Promote adherence to procurement legislation, GDPR, FOI, and internal policies, contributing to effective governance and risk management.
  • Corporate Services Support: Assist in internal and external communications, performance reporting, health and safety compliance, and provide administrative support to the Board and Committees.
  • Contribute to Strategic and Operational Goals: Support delivery of the company’s Procurement Strategy, Community Benefits Programme, and corporate objectives through cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused professional with procurement expertise and possessing sound knowledge of public procurement regulations such as PCR 2015. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with compliant procurement processes, developing policies, engaging with stakeholders, and overseeing contract performance. They should demonstrate excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interpret legislation, influence effectively, and manage competing priorities.
