The Property & Liability team is based across London and Manchester and works on a wide range of London market insurers, MGAs, and corporate clients. It focuses on specialty areas such as construction all risks, latent defects, construction and rail liability, as well as high‑value property damage and liability matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise insurers and London market clients on insurance policy coverage, including property, business interruption and public liability policies.
  • Handle specialist coverage matters such as Construction All Risks (CAR) and latent defect insurance.
  • Conduct liability defence work, managing high‑value and complex claims for insurers and MGAs.
  • Develop defence strategies and manage claims through to resolution, including litigation where required.
  • Manage subrogated recovery claims across general commercial property losses and construction‑related recoveries.
  • Handle a varied caseload of general property damage claims, public liability matters, construction and rail liability disputes, and construction defect claims.
  • Support clients through all stages of the claims process, from initial instruction to resolution.
  • Work collaboratively within a specialist team while maintaining responsibility for individual matters.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified solicitor (1–4 PQE), ideally with experience in insurance or construction litigation, property damage or liability claims – not all areas required.
  • Willingness to develop expertise in specialist areas such as insurance coverage and construction.
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills.
  • Proactive and team‑oriented approach.
