Key Requirements

  • England & Wales qualified lawyer with 4–6 years post‐qualification experience.
  • Strong grounding in upstream oil and gas transactions gained in private practice or in‐house.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating a range of core upstream agreements, including:
    • Concession agreements
    • Production sharing contracts (PSCs)
    • EPCCs
    • EPSAs
    • Royalty regimes and risk‐based service contracts
    • Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs)
    • Farm‐in / farm‐out agreements
    • Unitisation agreements
    • Lifting agreements and gas sales agreements
    • Crude oil and gas transportation agreements

Role & Responsibilities

  • Act as a key support to partners on complex upstream transactions across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Take a lead role in drafting and negotiating transaction documentation.
  • Manage discrete workstreams with increasing autonomy.
  • Work closely with clients.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and client relationship management.
