The Product Liability team at Clyde & Co is a market‑leading practice advising insurers and their insureds on a wide range of complex and high‑value disputes. The team has a strong reputation for defending personal injury claims arising from product liability and aviation incidents, often involving catastrophic injury, large losses and multi‑party litigation. It also handles property and coverage related matters and routinely manages cross‑border matters with colleagues across the firm’s global network. The practice is known for its commercial, solutions‑driven approach, combining technical excellence with a strong understanding of insurers’ strategic and operational priorities.
An excellent opportunity to join a market‑leading team handling a broad range of insurance and non‑insurance disputes. The role will focus on personal injury matters and involve advising insurers and their insureds on claims arising from product liability, property damage incidents and aviation liability risks, many involving significant personal injury exposure. A strong personal injury background is preferred; however the role may suit someone looking to expand beyond pure personal injury law. The successful candidate will manage claims from tortious, statutory and contractual routes and may be exposed to coverage disputes – guidance will be provided if there is no prior experience.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experienced associate (2 PQE+) with insurance litigation and a personal injury background.
- Experience in product liability, property damage or aviation claims is helpful.
- Experience in coverage disputes and/or defending liability claims involving bodily injury.
- Some commercial litigation or arbitration experience advantageous.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes, including multi‑party and cross‑border disputes.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and holding a practising certificate.
- All solicitors and registered European lawyers in legal practice or employment in England & Wales must comply with the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s continuing professional development scheme (CPD Scheme).
