Clyde Paper & Print is a long-established, family-owned business based in Glasgow. Founded in 1977, we have continued to grow by adapting to a changing market and now supply a wide range of digital printing papers, corporate print and luxury presentation packaging to a diverse UK client base.
We are now recruiting for a Part-Time Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function and bring together responsibilities previously managed across the business and external accountants into one dedicated role.
The Role
This is a hands-on, operational finance role with real ownership. Reporting to the Commercial Director and working closely with the Managing Director, you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial information, managing cash flow, payroll, budgeting and forecasting, and acting as the main point of contact for our external accountants. You will also line-manage our Finance Assistant and play a key role in improving systems, controls and efficiencies, particularly through the use of Xero. The role is office based and offers flexibility on working days and hours, totalling around 20–25 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of accurate monthly management accounts (target by 5th–7th working day)
- Monthly financial reporting and finance meetings with Directors
- Budget setting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Cash flow management, banking and foreign exchange forecasting
- Payroll liaison, PAYE, journals and monthly payments
- VAT returns, corporation tax accruals and year-end accounts preparation
- Liaison with external accountants and financial providers
- Review and improvement of financial systems, controls and reporting
- Line management and support of the Finance Assistant
About You
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Company Accountant or similar
- Strong hands-on experience producing monthly management accounts
- Confident user of Xero (or similar cloud-based accounting software)
- Experience managing budgets, forecasts and cash flow
- Comfortable working closely with senior leadership
- Highly organised, accurate and deadline-focused
- A proactive mindset with a desire to improve processes and add value
- Previous experience managing or supervising a finance team member is desirable.
