We’re pleased to share that Clyde Marine Recruitment is supporting Dublin Port Company in the recruitment of an experienced Deputy Harbour Master — a rare senior leadership opportunity within one of Europe’s most strategically important ports. This role sits at the heart of a complex, high-traffic marine environment, working to ensure the safe, efficient and compliant movement of vessels across a 24/7 operation.
While technical capability is essential, Dublin Port is placing significant emphasis on leadership, communication and stakeholder influence. They are seeking a confident, credible senior marine professional who can lead teams, engage effectively across the port community, and uphold the highest standards of marine governance.
Key Experience & Qualifications- STCW II/2 Unlimited Master Mariner CoC (Irish Mercantile Marine) or significant experience as Ship’s Master 3,000 GRT
- Experience within a Harbour Master or senior marine management environment
- Expert knowledge of pilotage, PECs, ship handling and marine risk management
- Proven leadership of operational teams in a 24/7 setting
- Strong understanding of maritime legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Experience in investigations, reporting and corrective action processes
- Excellent judgement, communication and decision-making skills
