We are looking to recruit a Paralegal / Senior Paralegal to join our specialist Volume Motor team based in the Glasgow or Edinburgh office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a caseload of c70 files at any one time.
  • Deal with all procedural aspects from issue through to trial.
  • Draft all pleadings.
  • Demonstrate the ability to value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law.
  • Assess claims for special damages.
  • Negotiate settlement where appropriate using persuasive arguments.
  • Have strong telephone negotiation skills.
  • Prepare witness statements for use in court proceedings, taken via telephone call or video call.
  • Attend conferences with counsel when required.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as claimant's solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, policyholders and the insurer clients.
  • Have strong organisation skills and be able to use a case management system.
  • Ensure all Management Information is completed timely and accurately.
  • Adhere to client SLA requirements in terms of reporting and updates.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous Motor/RTA litigation experience is essential.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast pace environment.
  • A Professional manner with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
