The Team
Driven by the unprecedented demands of an ageing global population and growing levels of lifestyle-related chronic diseases around the world, the global healthcare sector is undergoing a period of rapid change. Our multidisciplinary global healthcare group draws upon expertise across the firm and comprises lawyers who specialise in litigation, coroner\βs inquests, the Court of Protection, capacity and consent, projects and construction, real estate, corporate, insurance, intellectual property, commercial, IT, regulatory and employment. Our clients include public and private hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, healthcare suppliers and distributors, healthcare companies, private equity firms specialising in healthcare investments, health ministries and authorities. Our Healthcare team is expanding and focuses on NHS and private medical malpractice claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the fee earners on day to day file management
- Assisting on healthcare claims
- Reviewing expert evidence and preparing reports
- Preparing court bundles
- Drafting letters of instruction, requests, Instructions to Counsel
- Preparing briefing notes, action plans, file notes and attendance notes
- Reviewing reports and statements and other relevant documents
- Drafting and proofreading documents
- Liaising with and meeting clients with a high level of professionalism
- Conducting research and keeping up to date with legal and industry practices
- Managing day to day deadlines with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ensure files and spreadsheets are maintained and updated
- Adhoc tasks as required
Essential Skills & Experience
- An undergraduate law degree or equivalent (minimum 2:1 required)
- Strong IT skills and proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan and prioritise effectively
- Previous paralegal experience is desirable but not essential
