The Role

In today’s complex and fast‑changing world, businesses need a legal partner with an in‑depth understanding of how to best address and navigate risks from geopolitical uncertainty and regulatory change to climate risk and technological disruption. Clyde & Co is one of the UK’s largest law firms and a top 60 firm globally. It helps clients to navigate these risks and operates globally with over 70 offices worldwide. It is the world’s leading insurance‑focused law firm and a leader in its other core global sectors and markets. Reporting to the Global Senior Communications Manager, the role‑holder will support the day‑to‑day output of the Global Communications team, creating content and plans to share internal news, key projects, and initiatives across the firm. They will be responsible for updating the firm’s intranet and providing support for key internal events, and required to attend the office regularly (minimum two days a week). This is an exciting role suitable for a candidate who is looking to become a communications professional in a broad global role that offers scope for growth and development as part of an integrated communications, marketing, and business development function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, create, manage, and monitor content for our global intranet, updating the global homepage daily with news from around the firm, updating pages, and managing content for regular intranet features.
  • Provide support and advice on the effective use of our communications channels – i.e. our global intranet, social media channels and internal email distribution system – help advise on channel use, creation of intranet pages and email templates, and, working with our in‑house creative resource, to create internal communications assets (such as animation, graphics and video).
  • Write copy for internal emails, newsletters and blogs from senior stakeholders and broader corporate communications; managing their distribution through the appropriate channels.
  • Support partners, fee‑earners, business development and business services teams to co‑ordinate and execute targeted communication plans and activity to promote initiatives and programmes internally.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the communications team worldwide to execute joined‑up, world‑class communications which enable our colleagues to deliver on key business objectives and which drive a high‑performance culture.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to a range of stakeholders on appropriate use of our brand identity and liaising with creative agencies on requirements for key global campaigns.
  • Support on any other aspect of the communications team’s work (whether internal or external) as directed by the Global Senior Communications Manager, the Global Internal Communications Lead or other senior leaders.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Excellent communication skills and can demonstrate creative thinking: ability to write clearly, concisely and convey key messages.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities within tight timescales while maintaining high standards.
  • Team‑spirited and collaborative, while being able to take the initiative and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels with confidence, positivity, diplomacy.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and enterprise employee communication platforms (i.e. Poppulo) is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficiency in MS office, including PowerPoint and Excel. Digital media skills an advantage.
  • High degree of professionalism with an eye for detail.
  • Positive and energetic with the ability to spot storytelling opportunities and pro‑actively drive initiatives forward.
