In this Employment Associate role, you will support the team across contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including tribunal work, advisory work, and employment provisions in corporate deals. You will help manage a varied caseload, contribute to business development, and support client relationships. The role offers exposure to cross-border matters and large-scale restructuring, with emphasis on practical, commercially focused advice. You’ll work closely with colleagues to deliver client-centred employment solutions and grow the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Manage or assist with Employment Tribunal litigation, including drafting pleadings and statements and attending hearings.
  • Provide commercially focused day-to-day employment law advice on disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, TUPE, and contract queries.
  • Involves due diligence and drafting employment provisions in share purchase agreements and service agreements during corporate transactions.
  • Liaise directly with clients with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Draft client-facing correspondence, advice notes, and employment contracts/policies.
  • Engage in business development, contribute to thought leadership, and help grow the employment practice.
  • Manage a busy, varied caseload balancing litigation and advisory work.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider employment and commercial teams.
  • Develop expertise in sectors like insurance, healthcare, transport, energy, or infrastructure.

Key requirements

  • Experience managing or assisting with Employment Tribunal litigation.
  • Ability to provide commercially focused day-to-day employment law advice across a broad range of issues.
  • Exposure to employment aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence and drafting provisions in SPA and service agreements.
