Department: Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss

Location: Edinburgh

We are looking for a NQ/Junior Associate (NQ-2 years PQE) to join our Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss Team to be based in the Edinburgh office. Prior experience in handling Catastrophic Personal Injury and Large Loss cases is required. PQE levels are a guide and all suitable candidates will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with all members of the team, acting on behalf of a range of insurance companies and self‑insured commercial organisations and public bodies.
  • Assist and handle a varied caseload.
  • Carry out investigations, take witness statements, review and interpret medical records and medical reports.
  • Report to and liaise with clients to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Comply with client SLAs and MI requirements.
  • Proactively manage files, including adhering to court timetables.
  • Support Partners in servicing existing clients, growing new business, and maintaining relationships using technical excellence and innovation.
  • Draft all legal documents and client advice.
  • Deal with interlocutory proceedings, CCMCs and client meetings.
  • Support marketing and business development activity with the team and the wider Clyde & Co casualty group.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Highly determined and able to adapt well within a demanding, fast‑paced team.
  • Experience of personal injury litigation.
  • Enjoyment of being challenged by complex legal issues and a desire to expand knowledge.
  • Focus on delivering a highly professional service to clients, including compliance with client SLAs and MI requirements.
