Department: HR – GBS HR Operations

The Role

The HR Coordinator provides dedicated administrative and operational support to the HR Business Services client groups and plays a key role within the wider GBS HR Operations team. Working closely with HR Business Partners and other HR specialists, the role delivers day‑to‑day HR coordination across areas such as Learning & Development, Recruitment, HR systems, employee life‑cycle processes and reporting.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships confidently with staff, managers and partners
  • Proactive approach with the ability to suggest improvements to processes and procedures
  • Strong judgement, reasoning skills, and awareness of confidentiality requirements
  • Team‑oriented, inclusive and consultative, with willingness to travel to London when required
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Human Resources experience is desirable but not essential
  • Graduate or graduate‑calibre with office experience

General Responsibilities

  • Provide support to local HR teams, including producing employee letters, contract amendments, updating HR systems and managing the HR inbox
  • Respond to ad hoc HR queries and elevate as appropriate
  • Support HR Business Partners with project work such as salary reviews, moderation scheduling, reporting, research, reference checks and deadline management (e.g., probation periods)
  • Liaise regularly with the wider HR department to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting
  • Manage data updates and maintenance in Workday

Operational Support

  • Work with HR & Resourcing Coordinators to administer the new joiner process, including induction facilitation and preparing all new‑starter documentation
  • Manage the leaver process, including paperwork, payroll notifications and collection/collation of exit interview data
  • Direct staff queries to the correct departments, escalating and prioritising as necessary
  • Support the Benefits team with administrative tasks
