The Team
Clyde & Co's Disease team handles thousands of claims each year. We are trusted partners to major composite, run-off and specialist insurers, self-insured companies, multinationals with captive cover and public sector bodies. Our global footprint allows us to monitor trends and developments of emerging risks for our clients and offer cross-border solutions. We have specialist partners and dedicated lawyers and technicians, the group combines technical excellence and cutting-edge knowledge with the ability to deploy dedicated resources to handle complex and high value, as well as volume, instructions.
We act in individual matters (pre-and post-litigation), across cases such as work-related stress and harassment claims, claims for occupational cancers, work-related upper limb disorders, long-tail and short-tail claims, group litigation, strategic litigation projects. The team also specialises in claims for transmissible diseases such as COVID-19 and tuberculosis. The Role
We are looking for a Senior Litigation Executive to join our market lead Disease practice. We are interested in speaking to experienced Paralegals who have experience in managing a caseload of NIHL claims along with handling cases through to trial. You’ll be encouraged and supported to realise your full potential, actively participating and collaborating with senior fee earners and partners, with exposure to clients as much as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of NIHL claims.
- Draft Court documents within the Civil Procedure.
- Instruction Counsel and experts where appropriate.
- Assessing liability and quantum and preparing reports/advice.
- Make and respond to offers and negotiate settlement of both liability and quantum as and when necessary.
- Manage client MI expectations and SLA requirements.
- Negotiating fixed recoverable costs and disbursements.

- Previous paralegal experience within Disease setting.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast paced environment.
