The Team

Our Construction Professional Indemnity (PI) team forms part of Clyde & Co’s market‑leading Professional and Financial Disputes practice. The team acts for a wide range of construction professionals and their insurers, including architects, engineers, design and build contractors, project managers, quantity surveyors and others, across all sectors of the construction industry. Our lawyers have extensive experience advising on complex professional negligence claims, coverage issues, and policy disputes, as well as providing risk management and pre‑claims advice. Working collaboratively across our UK and international offices, we provide clients with fast, effective, and strategic solutions to the complex challenges they face.

The Role

We are seeking a Paralegal to join our busy and growing Construction PI team. The role offers the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in high‑quality professional indemnity work, supporting lawyers on complex, high‑value disputes and pre‑action matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting fee earners with case management across a variety of professional indemnity claims involving construction professionals.
  • Reviewing and analysing evidence, expert reports, and technical documents.
  • Preparing first drafts of correspondence, instructions to counsel and experts, and legal documents.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing summaries or case analyses.
  • Liaising with clients, insurers, counsel, and experts as required.
  • Managing and maintaining case files, document bundles, and disclosure exercises.
  • Supporting the team in the preparation of reports, case summaries, and management information for clients and insurers.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks to ensure smooth running of matters.

Skills And Experience

  • Previous paralegal experience within insurance, professional indemnity, or construction disputes is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and case management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach, with enthusiasm to learn and develop within a dynamic team environment.
