The Specialty Insurance team at Clyde & Co is recognised as a market leader in (re)insurance coverage disputes, with expertise in complex, high-value reinsurance matters spanning multiple parties and jurisdictions. Our team advises insurers, reinsurers and insureds on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious matters, including coverage, claims, policy wordings and regulatory issues.
This role will include advising insurers on a range of specialty products including crisis management (political violence, contingency, product recall, terrorism and kidnap & ransom) and credit and political risk insurance and reinsurance. There will also be an opportunity to work with other insurance teams including energy. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of complex, high value matters as well as smaller, fast-moving cases, providing coverage advice, drafting and reviewing wordings, and managing disputes including arbitration. You will have the opportunity to lead on projects and play a central role in client relationships, business development initiatives, and the continued growth of our practice.
Essential Skills & ExperienceWe are ideally looking for a candidate at 2 - 5 PQE who has relevant post qualification experience with a leading firm. Please note that our PQE levels are a guide, and all suitable candidates will be considered. The successful candidate should have good knowledge and experience of insurance coverage with a knowledge of specialty insurance products a bonus. Proven track record in coverage advisory work and wordings. Strong dispute resolution skills, with familiarity across a range of arbitral forums. Project management skills with the ability to lead teams and drive matters forward. The candidate should be a self-starter and enthusiastic in developing the practice and a career at the firm.
