Clyde's California based insurance coverage team is seeking an Insurance Coverage Senior Counsel. This opportunity is located in Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Francisco but we are also open to other locations in California and elsewhere for the right candidate.
The position involves representation of domestic insurers with regard to coverage advice and litigation involving commercial general liability and excess policies.
What you’ll do:
- Analyze rights and obligations under insurance policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide coverage advice to clients.
- Conduct legal research, analyze findings, and draft memoranda.
- Prepare and analyze pleadings, discovery, motions, supporting briefs, and legal correspondence regarding insurance coverage litigation.
- Meet and confer with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
- Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations.
- Take a proactive role in managing matters, deadlines, and communication with clients.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Possesses excellent academic credentials.
- Is admitted to practice in California, Nevada, Oregon, or Washington state, with a particular emphasis on admission in California.
- Has experience in insurance coverage and coverage litigation.
- Has excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Has strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Has the ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.
- Has effective problem-solving skills.
- Has the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
What we offer:
- The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000.
