We are looking to recruit an Associate Solicitor (4/5 PQE) to join our Property Liability Team in either our Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool or Guildford office.
The Team
We have an established and well-respected group of lawyers in our Property & Liability Team who advise some of the UK's largest insurers and their underwriters on all classes of property damage claims (both first and third party). This includes multi-million pound claims for fire, infrastructure damage, flood damage, building defect claims, and construction claims. This involves claims under a full suite of property policies to include commercial combined covers, property owners risks and Construction All Risks cover. There is a large focus on policy coverage claims involving advice on non-disclosure and fair presentation of risk and breach of conditions in respect of property and liability covers.
The Role
The role offers the opportunity for a broad range of work as the team works for insurers, brokers and corporate clients on the full range of property damage work including defending liability claims, pursuing high value recoveries, and advising on coverage and customer complaints. The team also pursue recoveries of money and assets stolen through fraud, including the full range of injunctive relief and work for corporate crime insurers.
We are interested in hearing from solicitors with a strong academic background and candidates with at least 3+ years experience within this practice area. Applicants should have sound technical ability, with experience of multi-track property damage liability claims, subrogated recoveries and policy coverage disputes. Experience in handling complex disputes arising out of fires, escapes of water and oil, subsidence and construction & engineering related incidents is also a requirement. We are keen to hear from excellent communicators, litigators and confident negotiators. Together with excellent commercial acumen, we look for experience at resolving disputes through various forms of ADR.
