As a Homeless Support Officer, you’ll support young people and families experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives and move towards independence. This is a hands‑on, people‑focused role where you’ll be a consistent, supportive presence overnight—helping residents feel safe, valued, and empowered.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building positive, trusting relationships with residents
- Supporting independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, budgeting, tenancy management)
- Encouraging access to education, volunteering, apprenticeships, and employment
- Helping residents connect with key services (healthcare, mental health, benefits, substance misuse support)
- Creating a safe, calm and supportive environment overnight
- Keeping accurate records using IT systems

- Crescent Court: Supporting young people (16‑25) experiencing homelessness
- Bruton Park: Supporting parents and their children to build stable futures
What We’re Looking For
- Empathy and understanding of people facing homelessness
- Resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A proactive, self‑motivated approach
- Basic IT skills (training provided)
- Relevant experience or qualifications in housing, social care, or youth work are helpful—but not essential.
