Service Manager
North Wales | Β£37,461.24 per annum | 37 hours per week | Permanent
Lead a life-changing service and help survivors rebuild their futures.
At ClwydAlyn, we're working to end poverty across North Wales by providing homes and support services that help people thrive.
Guided by our values of Trust, Kindness and Hope, we're looking for an experienced and compassionate Service Manager to lead our specialist domestic abuse services within CAWA (ClwydAlyn Women's Aid).
This is an opportunity to lead services that provide safety, support and hope to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse. You'll oversee refuge accommodation, outreach and community support services across North Wales, ensuring survivors receive high-quality, trauma-informed support that helps them move towards safety, recovery and independence.
What's in it for you?
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising with service
- Option to buy or sell annual leave
- Generous pension scheme
- Professional development and learning opportunities
- Work for an organisation recognised for its commitment to wellbeing
- Vivup benefits platform and employee discounts
- A role with genuine purpose and social impact
About the Role
As Service Manager, you'll lead the delivery and development of CAWA's domestic abuse services, ensuring they remain safe, effective, trauma-informed and centred on survivors and their children.
You'll work closely with colleagues, commissioners and partner agencies to improve outcomes and maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional practice.
No two days are the same. You could be supporting staff through a safeguarding situation, working with partner agencies, reviewing performance or developing new initiatives.
The Challenges and Rewards
This role offers both challenge and impact.
The people accessing our services may have experienced significant trauma, abuse and crisis. You'll support your team through complex situations requiring sound judgement, resilience and strong leadership. This includes safeguarding, risk management, partnership working and making decisions where safety is paramount.
The rewards are equally significant.
You'll lead services that help people move from fear to safety and from crisis to stability. You'll see individuals rebuild confidence, regain independence and create positive futures for themselves and their families. Few leadership roles offer such visible and meaningful impact.
Experience within domestic abuse services is beneficial, but we also welcome transferable leadership skills from housing, social care, safeguarding, health and other people-centred services.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and developing domestic abuse services across refuge and community provision.
- Managing, motivating and supporting a multidisciplinary team.
- Promoting a trauma-informed, survivor-centred approach.
- Ensuring effective safeguarding, risk management and case management.
- Building strong relationships with statutory and voluntary sector partners.
- Monitoring service quality, outcomes and performance.
- Driving service improvement and innovation.
- Ensuring compliance with Welsh Government, commissioner and organisational standards.
- Managing resources effectively and supporting service sustainability.
About You
We're looking for someone passionate about creating positive change and helping people live safer lives.
You will:
- Embody our values of Trust, Kindness and Hope.
- Lead with compassion, empathy and professionalism.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues and partner agencies.
- Remain calm and decisive in complex situations.
- Support, develop and inspire others.
- Take a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Understand safeguarding, professional boundaries and trauma-informed practice.
- Be committed to equality, inclusion and empowering people to make their own choices.
What You'll Bring
We're particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Experience leading support, housing, social care or domestic abuse services.
- Knowledge of domestic abuse, safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.
- Experience supporting teams in complex or demanding environments.
- Strong partnership-working and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience overseeing quality, compliance and performance.
- A recognised qualification in line with the National Training Framework (Group 4/5) and/or relevant experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
Why ClwydAlyn?
At ClwydAlyn, you'll join an organisation with a clear social purpose and commitment to helping people and communities flourish.
You'll be trusted to lead, supported to develop and empowered to shape services that make a lasting difference. Most importantly, you'll help people find safety, hope and a brighter future.
Together, we're working to end poverty and create stronger communities across North Wales.
