We are seeking a proactive and driven Management Accountant to join our small but high-performing finance team. This role will work closely with the finance manager and the service line leads, providing high-quality financial insight, reporting and influencing performance to forecasted targets. You will play a key role in business partnering with fee earners, as well as a collaborative approach within the finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to take ownership and influence change.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for service line income and cost analysis, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support the production of monthly management accounts and commentary.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of variances.
  • Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other month-end journals.

Analysis & Business Partnering

  • Build strong relationships with fee earners and operational stakeholders.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support performance management.
  • Partner with the business to improve forecasting accuracy and cost control.

Reconciliations & Controls

  • Assist in intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and transaction review.
  • Ensure financial controls are followed and contribute to strengthening control processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support automation, system enhancements, and more streamlined reporting.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc analysis, projects, and team initiatives.

Teamwork

  • Play an active role in supporting the wider finance team, stepping in where needed.
  • Be adaptable and willing to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Finalist or newly qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA (or equivalent).
  • Experience within an intercompany structure or multi-entity environment, able to understand complex consolidations and complete relevant reconciliations.
  • Experience in business partnering with service line leads, able to support, challenge and guide them to make smart decisions.
  • Excel and PowerPoint to a minimum of intermediate/advanced level to handle large quantities of data.
  • Ability to analyse financial data and present findings clearly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with finance and non-finance individuals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to self-manage and prioritise multiple deadlines.
  • High level of reliability, ownership, and initiative.
  • Prior exposure to professional services or fee-earning environments.
  • Experience with SAP Concur, SUN financial systems.
