Role Overview: Our client is looking for a Lead Programmer to join their development team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and innovative programmer with a passion for creating exceptional gaming experiences. As a Senior Game Programmer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising gameplay features, as well as mentoring junior programmers to help them grow within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimise gameplay features: Work on game systems using C++ and Unreal Engine, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and performant code.
- Collaborate with the design and art teams: Work closely with other departments to ensure gameplay mechanics are integrated seamlessly with visuals and sound.
- Mentor junior programmers: Offer guidance, code reviews, and support to more junior members of the team, helping them grow technically and creatively.
- Innovate and push boundaries: Contribute to the creative process by bringing new ideas to the table that enhance the gaming experience.
- Maintain and improve existing code: Troubleshoot and resolve any performance issues, bugs, or technical hurdles in existing codebases.
