Job Vacancy: Production Assistant at Clun Valley Foods
Location: Currently based in Clun, moving to Craven Arms in Spring 2026
Hours: Monday to Thursday (approx. 30 hours, early start Wednesday and Thursday) plus potential for overtime
About us: Clun Valley Foods is dedicated to working with local and regional producers to offer a diverse range of high-quality food products. We supply around 70 shops across Shropshire, Mid and North Wales and Herefordshire. Our business is expanding year on year and we are excited to be moving to new premises to support our growth and improved working environment.
Position overview: As a Production Assistant you will play a crucial role in our operations. Your primary responsibilities will include cutting and packaging a variety of products such as cooked meat, cheeses and sausage. The other main aspect is picking and labelling orders ready for despatch across an extensive range of chilled and ambient products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut and pack a range of products with precision and care
- Pick and pack products accurately to fulfil orders ready for delivery
- Maintain high hygiene standards in line with food safety regulations
- Complete level 2 food hygiene qualification
- Follow established processes and keep accurate records of work
- Ensure the presentation of products meets our quality standards
- Work closely with team members to improve efficiency and quality with a focus on providing great service to our customers
Qualifications:
- An interest in good food is essential; previous experience in food production whilst advantageous is not mandatory
- Ability to lift and carry products – be on your feet throughout the working day
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the process and new ways of working which can help grow the business
- Strong attention to detail particularly in hygiene standards, food safety process, product presentation and order fulfilment
