QUALITY ENGINEER IMMEDIATE START | £45,000 £50,000 PER ANNUM | FULL TIME, PERMANENT Are you a detail-driven Quality Engineer with a background in foundry or machining environments? We're looking for someone who can start immediately and take ownership of dimensional accuracy, metallurgical integrity, and customer specification compliance across cast and machined products. If you thrive on root-cause analysis, driving down defects, and being the technical quality authority on the shop floor, we want to hear from you. THE ROLE As Quality Engineer, you'll develop, maintain, and continuously improve the quality systems, processes, and controls that keep the foundry and machining operations running to the highest standard. You'll be hands-on with CMM inspection, root-cause investigations, and customer-facing quality matters reporting to the QHSE Manager. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control processes for foundry and machining operations Operating and programming CMM machines, plus manual metrology equipment and gauges Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models Producing dimensional inspection reports for internal teams and customers Completing First Off / First Article inspections with supporting reports Managing non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) Approving first-off and final inspections for cast and machined components Leading continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and process variation Supporting process capability studies, SPC, and PFMEA activities Maintaining and improving QMS documentation in line with ISO 9001 (and other relevant standards such as AS9100 or IATF 16949, where applicable) Preparing quality reports, KPIs, and audit findings for internal and external stakeholders Liaising with customers on technical quality matters, including PPAP submissions and FAIRs Conducting supplier audits and supporting supplier development activities Managing customer complaints through to timely, effective resolution Working closely with machining and quality teams to drive a zero-defects culture WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Proven experience in a quality engineering role within a machining environment Confident using CMM equipment, manual metrology tools, and gauges Strong working knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models Practical experience with root-cause and corrective action methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems A proactive, safety-first mindset with clear, confident communication Available to start immediately WHAT'S ON OFFER £45,000 £50,000 per annum, depending on experience Immediate start available Permanent, full-time position A hands-on role with real ownership over quality outcomes HOW TO APPLY This is an immediately available position, so we're keen to speak to suitable candidates as soon as possible.
