Leyton Orient Football Club is looking for a ‘Fan Engagement Executive’ to help and grow its fan engagement department. The successful candidate will play an important role in executing the club’s fan engagement strategy; strengthening the already-strong ties with existing fans and helping to attract new supporters to Leyton Orient. The role requires an organised individual with a can-do attitude and strong communication skills. In order to perform the role successfully, the successful candidate will need to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide the link between the club and its ‘Forever Orient’ staff to help attract new members to the scheme and ensure that the value of the scheme is communicated effectively to its existing members.
  • To lead the development of a new former players’ association, in partnership with the club’s Forever Orient membership scheme.
  • To innovate and improve the delivery and promotion of the club’s stadium tours.
  • To lead the running of the club’s new and now regular matchday Fan Zones, aimed at engaging with supporters of all ages.
  • To identify and deliver ways to improve the club’s EFL Family Excellence score by leading a new working group.
  • To liaise with the commercial department on matchday activations for home fixtures and to help facilitate these.
  • To manage the club’s Here To Help Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO) team on home matchdays and maximise their time.
  • To follow up with first time ticket purchasers.
  • Co‑ordinate community ticket allocations and matchday experience packages on home matchdays; including first‑time fan certificates, half‑time entertainment and children’s birthday parties.
  • To identify and attend suitable events targeted at potential new supporters, such as Fresher Fayres and community‑focused functions.
  • Co‑manage the club’s fans email account and respond to all supporter enquiries.
  • To build relationships with the club’s existing official supporter groups and manage the introduction of new fans.
  • Introduce and manage a new ‘You Said, We Did’ feature on the club’s website.
  • To adopt the role of Disability Liaison Officer.
  • To research opportunities for growth and promotion.
  • To support the club’s signed merchandise processes.
  • To work in collaboration with internal stakeholders and managers.
  • The successful candidate will have a can‑do attitude and will be expected to assist colleagues with other ad‑hoc tasks from time to time.

About The Candidate

Education/Qualifications/Training:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in sport/events environment.
  • Full driving licence is preferred.

Specific Experience:

  • Managing a small team on event days, including matchdays.
  • A track record of using analytical skills to identify areas for improvement and actioning these findings.
  • Experience in working within professional sport is preferred but not essential.

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge/Requirements:

  • A passion for supporter engagement who takes pride in achieving objectives.
  • A creative thinker who can convert ideas into events and campaigns.
  • An understanding of modern culture and trends across a variety of age brackets.
  • A strong understanding of English football and, particularly, EFL football.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outgoing and confident in meeting people.
  • Presentable.
  • Happy to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise accordingly.
  • Ability to adhere to and carry out the club’s safeguarding best practices and procedures.

Additional Information:

This is a full‑time role that includes work on weekends and evenings.
