Putney Lawn Tennis Club (PLTC)PLTC is a vibrant community with almost 1,000 members.

Its clubhouse has a well-stocked bar and kitchen, big tv screens for watching major sporting events, an exercise studio and a function room which is often used to host popular member events like our quiz nights and parties.

The F&B/Duty Manager will work alongside the Club Manager, with the support of a duty manager and will report into the PLTC Committee.

Main Duties

  • Develop and promote an appealing F&B offering to meet PLTC members’ expectations and increase the club’s revenues/profits
  • Conceive and implement promotions on an ongoing basis (eg themed events and parties), working with the Social Team when appropriate, ensuring they run smoothly, are enjoyed by members and are profitable.
  • Recruit/manage/train bar and catering team, ensuring they have full knowledge of food/beverage service techniques, all menus, drinks lists and specialities so that they’re served to correct standards.
  • Liaise regularly with kitchen and bar staff to discuss specials and food and drink availability.
  • Consistently achieve service standards and product delivery, ensuring that members are assisted promptly and to the correct standards, and that orders are delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Work with the Club Manager in controlling all operational costs.
  • Produce weekly reports on consumption trends
  • Oversee and where necessary improve the stock control, order placement, and receipt of deliveries process
  • Take responsibility for the operation/shift when on duty.
  • Give full co-operation in a friendly and helpful manner to any colleagues or members requiring assistance.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and licensing requirements, identify and report all Health & Safety hazards and maintenance requirements to ensure zero defects.
  • Monitor and incorporate members' feedback to enhance members satisfaction and deal with any complaints, following the correct procedures.
  • Cover for the Club Manager as and when required.
