Do you enjoy working with children and bringing energy to their day? We’re looking for Playworkers to join our friendly team at The Royal Kent School in Oxshott, running our breakfast and afterschool clubs for children aged 4–11.
This is a hands‑on role where every session is different – one moment you’ll be helping with breakfast or setting up an activity, the next you’ll be outdoors playing games or supporting free play.
At Clubland, we’re a small, family‑run business passionate about creating safe, fun, and nurturing experiences. Our Playworkers are at the heart of this – making sure every child feels welcome, happy, and inspired.
The Role
We are particularly looking for someone who can provide regular cover across the week, with Monday–Friday Breakfast Club availability and Friday Afterschool Club availability being especially important.
As a Playworker, You’ll
- Support the fun – get involved with child‑led play, crafts, cookery, outdoor games, and activities.
- Keep things running smoothly – help prepare breakfast and snacks, set up play areas, and tidy away at the end of sessions.
- Look after wellbeing – follow safeguarding, first aid, and health & safety procedures to keep children safe.
- Be a friendly face – build positive relationships with children, parents, and school staff.
- Work as a team – support colleagues to make each session enjoyable and stress‑free.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Caring, reliable, and friendly
- Confident working with children (experience with ages 4–11 is ideal)
- Creative and willing to get stuck into a range of activities
- A great communicator and team player
- Reliable and able to commit to regular sessions each week
Desirable extras:
childcare/playwork qualifications, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding training – but don’t worry if you don’t have these yet, we’ll provide training.
The Practical Bits
- Location: The Royal Kent School, Oxshott, Surrey
- Hours: Breakfast Club 07:00–08:45, Monday–Friday, and Afterschool Club 14:30–18:00, Monday–Friday, during term time
- Out current priority: We particularly need someone who can cover Monday–Friday Breakfast Club and Friday Afterschool Club. We are happy to consider job shares and different combinations of regular hours
- Contract: Permanent, variable hours
- Pay: £12.71/hr starting rate, plus 12.07% holiday pay uplift (total £14.24/hr). Breakfast Club hours are paid at time and a quarter. Pay increases with training and years of service.
