About Club Langley

Club Langley is a thriving events venue and sports club in Beckenham, hosting around 340 private events each year across two function rooms, alongside a lively public sports bar. We are strengthening our management team to elevate service standards, consistency and guest experience across all areas of the venue.

The Role

This is a hands-on, floor-based leadership role responsible for the smooth delivery of private events and the overall quality of front-of-house service. You will lead by example on shift, set clear expectations, and ensure every event runs professionally, calmly and to plan. You will work closely with our Function Coordinators (bookings/admin), senior management, and event organisers, and collaborate daily with the General Manager to ensure consistent delivery and high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead front-of-house delivery for private events from set-up to close-down (weddings, celebrations, corporate events, funerals).
  • Direct and support Door Security, Bar Supervisors, bar teams and service staff during events and peak trading.
  • Run pre-shift briefings, allocate roles, control pace, and maintain standards of service, uniform and presentation.
  • Proactively manage guest experience, resolving issues and complaints in the moment.
  • Introduce and embed practical SOPs and checklists for set-up, service, bar operation and close-down.
  • Coach supervisors and staff through training, feedback and performance support, raising capability over time.
  • Support labour discipline and rota effectiveness during service (right people, right place, right time).
  • Work with senior management to continuously improve event delivery, staff performance and consistency.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a busy events FOH environment (hotel C&B, wedding venue, large multi-space venue, premium pub/bar with functions).
  • Strong floor leadership with confidence directing teams in live service.
  • Calm, solutions-focused, and excellent with guests.
  • Great communication skills, high standards, and a coaching mindset.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail (timings, room readiness, briefings).
  • Personal licence desirable (or willingness to obtain).

How to Apply

Please send your CV along with a short note covering: The most challenging event service you've led and how you handled it. The standards or routines you've implemented to improve consistency.
