At Club La Santa, guests can enjoy more than 80 different sports on state-of-the-art facilities and 500 weekly activities and instructed lessons – all included in the stay! With almost 496 rooms spanning from one-bedroom apartments to luxurious suites, we host approximately 1600 guests at maximum capacity. We are also a beloved destination for many national sports teams and professional athletes. The resort is located near La Santa village on the north-western coast of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. It is an English-speaking resort with the majority of guests from Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

Work and responsibilities

  • As a bike mechanic at Club La Santa, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance of our bikes and delivering the best experience to Club La Santa guests.
  • Your responsibilities include:
    • Carrying out scheduled maintenance of the rental fleet, which consists of up to 500 bikes, including carbon and alloy road bikes, mountain bikes, city bikes, 2 tandems, and a variety of kids' bikes.
    • Using our online system, BRM, to have an overview of the maintenance schedule and update the service history for each bike.
    • Performing repairs on guests' private bikes and directly interacting with guests to inform and agree on the work needed.
    • Utilizing our till system, Lightspeed, to create work orders, charge the correct amount, and manage stock levels.
    • Assisting with the setup of rental bikes.
    • Cooperating with the rest of the team to keep the bike center clean, tidy, and organized.
    • Reporting directly to the In-Charge of the bike center in Lanzarote and working alongside our bike guide and customer service team located in the Bike Centre.
    • Being part of the Green Team, consisting of around 60 sports instructors and more than 450 colleagues across three countries, making you part of a large hotel operation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a bike mechanic.
  • Cytech Level 2 qualification, graduation certificate from Herningsholm College Denmark, CELF - Centre for Vocational Education Lolland-Falster, or equivalent experience is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English. Secondary languages: Spanish and/or Danish.

  • Teamwork. You are reliable within the team, capable of collaborating, and open to receiving and implementing feedback.
  • Self-motivated to work independently. You can maintain work efficiency even when alone in the workshop and take the initiative to find new tasks during quiet periods.
  • Exceptional customer service skills. You provide the best possible customer service when interacting with guests to arrange and agree on work orders and while assisting with rental bikes.

  • Permanent full time contract with 40 hrs. working week and 2 days off.
  • The salary is 26.600€ annually.
  • One free lunch will be provided on all working days.
  • Holiday: 30 days a year + 18 extra days of holiday as compensation for work on public holidays including holiday pay.

Important information for when applying

  • We can only employ people with a passport from the EU community or with a Spanish residencia and work permit.
  • The position will require relocation to Lanzarote if you are not already living here.
