The Role
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer with 3+ years experience to contribute to our growing and proactive Tech team.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend Development & Systems Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and integrations supporting e-commerce platforms and internal systems.
- Develop APIs and services using modern backend technologies (e.g., Node.js) to support data flow between internal tools, third-party platforms, and customer-facing applications.
- Own system integrations from planning through development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Contribute to backend architecture, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability across services.
- Work with data platforms and pipelines to support analytics, reporting, and operational systems.
- Platform Integrations & Automation
- Design and implement integrations between e-commerce platforms, internal tools, and third-party services.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and system improvements across the business.
- Build and maintain serverless functions and microservices (e.g., AWS Lambda or equivalent).
- Ensure integrations are robust, well-tested, and scalable as the business grows.
- Data Engineering & Infrastructure
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and data infrastructure.
- Work with databases and data platforms such as MongoDB, BigQuery, or similar technologies.
- Design efficient data models and optimise queries for performance and reliability.
- Support the integration of operational data into analytics platforms for business insights.
- Frontend & Platform Support (Advantageous)
- Support front-end development when required, including working with Shopify themes and templates.
- Implement updates across product, collection, and landing pages when necessary.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate mockups into engaging digital experiences.
- Ensure responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces across devices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with tech, design, content, and e-commerce teams to deliver reliable systems and features.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Support testing and deployment processes, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Stay up to date with relevant backend technologies, data platforms, and architectural best practices.
More About You
- 3+ years experience in a backend or full-stack engineering role, ideally within retail, e-commerce, or high-traffic digital environments.
- Strong experience with Node.js or similar backend technologies in production environments.
- Experience designing and building APIs (REST or GraphQL) and integrating with third-party systems.
- Hands-on experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda or equivalent).
- Experience working with databases and data platforms such as MongoDB, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, or similar.
- Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and modern development workflows.
- Experience contributing to data pipelines, system integrations, and backend services.
Nice To Have
- Experience working with Shopify platform integrations or Shopify Liquid.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React.
- Familiarity with SCSS, Tailwind, or modern CSS frameworks.
- Experience with internal tooling platforms such as Retool.
- Exposure to e-commerce platforms and retail technology ecosystems.
