The role is responsible for leading the delivery, support, and strategic development of enterprise infrastructure services across servers, networks, storage, datacentres, and workplace environments. This position provides technical and people leadership to the local infrastructure team while overseeing complex, multi‑domain projects from design through to go‑live. The role partners closely with vendors, telecom providers, and business stakeholders to ensure resilient connectivity, effective disaster recovery, and cost‑optimised infrastructure solutions. Accountability includes capacity planning, budget management, and ensuring infrastructure capabilities align with current and future business needs.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Delivery and Support: Manage the delivery and support of servers, network infrastructure, storage, datacentre and people centre moves and alterations.
- Strategic Planning: Perform capacity analysis and recommendations based on current and future business requirements.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to the local team in networking and 3rd party connectivity to business partners.
- Team Leadership: Lead the local infrastructure team in delivery of new projects and support of existing environments.
- Project Management: Ability to plan the delivery of complex multi-domain projects from inception to go-live.
- Vendor/Business Partner Management: Establish strategic relationships in London that support the procurement of hardware, deliver services, and liaise with business partners to establish financial extranet connectivity. Work with telco and community of interest network providers.
- Budget Management: Oversee the IT infrastructure budget, including new project forecast along with existing technology budget optimization.
- Disaster Recovery: Plan and oversee disaster recovery exercises with a view of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, including hands‑on responsibility for server, network, storage, datacentre operations, vendor management, and leading infrastructure projects, with demonstrated experience managing teams, budgets, and disaster recovery planning.
- Knowledge of Server and storage, with a strong background in networking and security.
- Knowledge of enterprise routing and switching best practices, thorough understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, OSPF, BGP and DMVPN.
- Understanding of how TCP/IP works.
- Experience with security devices including Cisco Firepower and Fortinet Fortigate.
- Ability to understand complex NAT configurations between organizations.
- Strong project management and team management skills to direct technical teams under pressure.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network and hardware problems.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with stakeholders, staff, and senior management.
- Ability to translate technical jargon into layman's terms.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
