This newly created role supports CITIC-CLSA’s rapidly expanding Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) business, overseeing operational and trade support functions across global markets. The position involves managing day-to-day operations, engaging with exchange representatives and internal stakeholders to deliver strategic projects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards. The candidate will lead system analysis, new market implementations, and maintain detailed operational procedures to support the Futures Clearing business, with a particular focus on physical contracts and exchange-traded Futures & Options (F&O). This role also includes client service management, margin oversight, regulatory reporting, and staff development.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Manage daily operational functions and trade support activities for ETD.
- Lead and ensure the successful delivery of strategic projects, including system analysis and implementation and new market onboarding.
- Engage proactively with exchange representatives and internal stakeholders to expedite project deliverables.
- Oversee trade lifecycle event management, margin management, and regulatory reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and update operational procedures, workflows, and rulebooks, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Coordinate rehearsals and testing of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) contingencies.
- Manage client service activities, focusing on a predominantly Chinese client base.
- Ensure all referential data is accurate and complete.
- Manage give-up invoicing processes.
- Collaborate with IT, Credit Risk, Finance, and other operational departments to establish and oversee robust operating procedures.
- Manage, develop, and appraise staff, and foster a proactive team environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of ten years of derivatives experience, with a focus on exchange-traded Futures & Options (F&O).
- Proven expertise in F&O workflow management, especially physical contracts.
- Strong knowledge of clearing house rules and regulations for key commodity exchanges (LME & ICE).
- Prior experience as the operational SME for significant projects, such as new clearing memberships and market changes.
- Ability to define, establish, and oversee operational procedures in collaboration with IT and risk departments.
- Strong leadership skills, with the capability to manage a small team and operate hands-on in daily activities.
- Self-driven, proactive, and confident in managing senior stakeholder relationships.
- Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills to develop trust and respect.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
