About Procurement: CLS recognises procurement capability plays a key role in supporting the delivery of value and the management of risk with third parties. The procurement function is in the middle of a multi‑year transformation journey to deliver on its Vision – We seek to provide a frictionless and strategic Procurement service to CLS, that embeds our risk culture and delivers added value by applying our expertise, leveraging the market, building trust, and enhancing collaboration with our Business Partners. This new role will be an integral component of delivering this vision.
Job purpose – major duties and responsibilities of the job: The Assistant Vice President, Procurement, based in London, will lead and support third‑party management activities, ensuring the effective management of Third‑Party engagements and adherence to procurement policies and controls. This role involves working closely with stakeholders and third parties to deliver cost savings, optimise commercial positions and manage third‑party risk.
What you will be doing:
- Manage a "book of work" (vendors and spend categories) covering the Third Party Management lifecycle which includes sourcing, commercial management, contracting and ongoing monitoring of vendors.
- Understand and ensure functional and business compliance to Third Party Management policies, procedures and controls.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand and deliver against business requirements and objectives.
- Support the broader procurement team when/where needed to deliver against the functional agenda.
- Monitor and maintain reporting against "book of work" dashboards, trackers and reports.
What we’re looking for:
- Expertise in contract reviews – ability to quickly understand, review and interpret contract clauses, and negotiate an optimal contractual position for CLS.
- Strong task management – ability to manage priorities, review and deliver against a high volume "book of work".
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite to support data analytics and recommendation/decision making.
- Experience working in procurement systems (Oracle Coupa, SAP/Ariba).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good knowledge of procurement best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with a large number of stakeholders.
- Strong team‑working/improvement ethic to support the delivery of the functional transformation agenda.
Professional qualifications/certifications:
- Degree educated preferred.
- Minimum 5 years work experience in a Procurement role.
- Experience of working in "Corporate" spend categories (e.g. HR, Travel, Property & FM, Marketing, Legal, Professional Services).
- Regulated industry experience preferred.
