Role: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Hours: 13 hours 45 minutes per week

Contract: Fixed Term – until July 2026 (39 weeks per year, 38 weeks plus 5 inset days)

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 12:30pm – 3:15pm

Salary: Scale 3 Point 5-6 (£25,583 – £25,989 FTE; actual £8,150.58 – £8,279.93 per annum)

Interview: 4th March 2026

Responsibilities

  • Support a pupil on a 1‑to‑1 basis and also work with small groups in the classroom.
  • Work in partnership with teachers and the SENCO to support learning in line with the National Curriculum.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children in a school setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Ability to support the child's medical and intimate care needs
  • Knowledge of successful strategies to engage pupils with specific and significant needs
  • Patience, calmness and flexibility at all times
  • Commitment to high achievement for pupils and staff
  • Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Good standard of education: Maths and English GCSE grades A‑C or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of ICT
