Treasurer’s Responsibilities
- Overseeing the financial matters of the charity
- Overseeing and presenting budgets, accounts and financial statements to the board
- Ensuring proper accounts and records are kept
- Developing and/or reviewing and implementing financial and reserves policies
Be a point of contact and/or lead on issues relating to financial matters of the charity
- Implementing and monitoring financial controls and relevant systems are in place
- Liaising with the charity’s director to ensure annual accounts comply with Charity Commission guidelines, when necessary
- Liaising with the charity’s independent examiner, where appropriate.
Strategy and Governance
- Actively contribute to the Board of Trustees\’ role in giving firm strategic direction to the charity, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets
- Supporting high standards of governance and risk management
- Ensuring the organisation is accountable and transparent in its activities
- Ensuring compliance with relevant charitable and company legislation
- Safeguarding the interests of Clowns Without Borders’ beneficiaries
Advocacy
Acting as an ambassador for Clowns Without Borders
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of finance practice relevant to charities
- Qualified UK Chartered Accountant
- Good financial analysis skills
- Ability to communicate clearly
