Treasurer’s Responsibilities

• Overseeing the financial matters of the charity
• Overseeing and presenting budgets, accounts and financial statements to the board
• Ensuring proper accounts and records are kept
• Developing and/or reviewing and implementing financial and reserves policies

Be a point of contact and/or lead on issues relating to financial matters of the charity

• Implementing and monitoring financial controls and relevant systems are in place
• Liaising with the charity’s director to ensure annual accounts comply with Charity Commission guidelines, when necessary
• Liaising with the charity’s independent examiner, where appropriate.

Strategy and Governance

• Actively contribute to the Board of Trustees\’ role in giving firm strategic direction to the charity, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets
• Supporting high standards of governance and risk management
• Ensuring the organisation is accountable and transparent in its activities
• Ensuring compliance with relevant charitable and company legislation
• Safeguarding the interests of Clowns Without Borders’ beneficiaries

Advocacy

Acting as an ambassador for Clowns Without Borders

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience of finance practice relevant to charities
• Qualified UK Chartered Accountant
• Good financial analysis skills
• Ability to communicate clearly
