Trainee Advocate – North Yorkshire Harrogate and Scarborough
Role: Trainee Advocate
Hours: 30 to 37.5 hours per week
Location: Home based covering the Harrogate & Scarborough areas of North Yorkshire
Reports to: Service Manager
Salary: £27,300 FTE
This is an exciting opportunity to join our advocacy team in North Yorkshire and make a real difference to people’s lives.
We offer flexible working hours Monday to Friday, with no evening, weekend or shift work. Please note that this role does not involve providing personal care. Instead, you will support people to navigate health and social care processes, ensuring they are involved in decisions that affect their lives and that their voices are heard.
The role involves working directly with people, providing advocacy support in a variety of settings and accompanying individuals to meetings with professionals. You will help people understand information, express their views and wishes, and participate in planning their future care and support.
You will also support people who lack the capacity to make specific decisions about matters such as accommodation or medical treatment. In these situations, you will gather and communicate the person’s views, wishes and feelings to health and social care professionals involved in making best interest decisions on their behalf.
Please see the job description for full details of this role.
